Holiday Card

The process I used to create this piece was very tedious. I individually created the shapes that created the structure of the school. The amount of effort that went into the creation of the card made the final product even more satisfying. I am very proud of this piece, and I am glad that I pushed myself to use a different style.

I wanted this piece to be experimental and to push my design skills. My finished product looked very architectural and had a specific blueprint-like style. My original final design did not have color, so I made two versions, one with color and the other without.

I used Adobe Illustrator for this project. During the creation of my design, I had to expand my skills of illustration using shapes. I also learned how to take advantage of negative space and use detail while keeping a design simple. Because of how tedious the design process was, it made it more difficult to know when I was finished. I could always add more, but the ability to keep things simple is very important.
