Illustrator Portrait
My Illustrator Portrait is inspired by the work of Vincent Van Gogh, specifically his self-portrait from 1889. My goal was to create a piece that accurately represented the post-impressionism era. This era is known for allowing artists to create their pieces with distinctive and personal styles. I used the paintbrush tool and textures in Adobe Illustrator to replicate the techniques of Van Gogh.
Adobe Illustrator has been my favorite program since I used it for the first time, but I often struggled to create full pieces that I was proud of that were a work of art rather than an infographic or invitation. This project allowed me to become more familiar with digital painting and the paintbrush tools and textures. I have gained confidence in creating personal digital pieces and allowing more free-form elements into my typical designs.
